Tell us about yourself & your journey?

I played all sports growing up like rugby, cricket, tennis, gold ect. I thought I would try kayaking because it was different and looked fun.

I still do it today because I think it’s fun and I just love being out on the water. After I finished school in South Africa I wanted to continue chasing my dream of going to the Olympics. I came to Australia on my own to join the high performance squad on the Gold Coast. It was the best decision I ever made and still pinch myself that I get to do what I do here on the Goldy.

In 2021 I had a break through with my K2 partner when we won Gold in the K2 1000m and broke the Olympic Record. Although that was our best result, the highlight of my career has really been the day to day stuff. I love the journey with my teammates.

Other than kayaking, I work part-time in finance and have an awesome group of family and friends that I spend time with. I also have a pretty awesome fiancé and dog!
