On Friday 16th October the Gold Coast is being asked to swap Gold for Yellow on World Food Day to raise awareness and funds for Oz Harvest.

OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it directly to more than 1300 charities supporting people in need across the country.

OzHarvest operates nationally, rescuing over 180 tonnes of food each week from over 3,500 food donors including supermarkets, hotels, airports, wholesalers, farmers, corporate events, catering companies, shopping centers, delis, cafes, restaurants, film and TV shoots, and boardrooms.

BSc has been supporting OzHarvest for the last 12 months, particularly during the Covid period donating stock wherever possible. Including hundreds of RTD protein drinks, our protein balls, and other on-the-go snacks to the many people that OzHarvest support who are often on-the-move, in temporary living circumstances, or simply uncertain of when or where their next meal may come from.

This year the entire BSc family has supported Go Yellow Day by contributing to donations in our lunchroom and the purchase of the OzHarvest Everyday Cookbook for every team member. For every cookbook purchased, one is donated to people experiencing food insecurity! And every $1 donated to OzHarvest will provide 2 meals!
